<p>&#8220;I just can&#8217;t bake! Everything I try to bake turns into a disaster. I can&#8217;t even make a recipe from children&#8217;s cookbook work. A<em> children&#8217;s</em> cookbook!&#8221;.</p>
<p>My dear friend was sharing her frustrations in her baking attempts. She could very happily just not bake. However, as a mother of three, every now and then, she feels the urge to get in the kitchen with her kids and successfully bake something, <em>anything</em>.</p>
<p>Another friend of mine, sitting next to her, nods. &#8220;Do you know the number of times my sister has had to make macarons to perfect them? It took her months. Months of trial and error. Little things would either make or break the recipe.&#8221;</p>
<p>I completely understand both these stories. There are so many ways to ruin a recipe; you have to learn the little things. I can&#8217;t even begin to tell you how many times I&#8217;ve burnt the cake, had cakes explode in the oven, etc.</p>
<p>I strongly relate to the need, as a mother, for <a title="Lessons Learnt Journal: In The Kitchen" href="http://lessonslearntjournal.com/category/more/in-the-kitchen">simple recipes that work, every time</a>. I don&#8217;t have months of end to practice recipes. I need recipes that don&#8217;t require fuss. Recipes that are fail proof. Recipes that are so easy, your kids (or you) can&#8217;t mess it up. Now call me fussy, but I&#8217;m not just after easy and fail proof recipes &#8211; they also need to be delicious.</p>

<p>Using this quick bread recipe, my 5 year old twins, N &amp; M, made three batches of 2 ingredient sweet bread. With the new range of Ski Divine Yoghurts, they made:</p>
<ul>
<li>Caramelised pear sweet bread. These had pear fruit pieces in them and was N&#8217;s favourite.</li>
<li>Apple cinnamon sweet bread. M is obsessed with apples. It&#8217;s the only fruit he eats. He loved the apple cinnamon sweet bread.</li>
<li>Butterscotch sweet bread. This was my favourite of the lot. The best way I could describe it would be, a healthy version of sticky date pudding. So, so yummy, (with much less sugar and calories &#8211; yay!).</li>

This bread recipe only requires two ingredients. Yes, you read that correctly; two. When I stumbled upon this two ingredient bread recipe, I had my doubts. I have tried a <a title="Recipes: No Knead Bread" href="http://lessonslearntjournal.com/recipes-no-knead-bread/">no-knead bread recipe</a> that&#8217;s so easy a four year old could bake it, but surely you can&#8217;t make bread with just two ingredients? Can you make anything edible and tasty with just two ingredients?</p>

Well readers, here I stand, corrected. You can make something edible with just two ingredients. Not only that, you can make something tasty with just two ingredients.</p>

We put our <a title="Lessons Learnt Journal: Fine Motor Skills" href="http://lessonslearntjournal.com/?s=fine+motor+skills">fine motor skills</a> to work and had fun kneading, squeezing, pushing and flattening our bread dough. (I was still in disbelief at this stage that the two ingredients was all we needed to make this amazingly elastic bread dough).</p>

Now that we had our beautiful two ingredient bread dough, we rummaged through our fridge and pantry to see what we could add to it. You can be as creative as your tastebuds allow. Some sultanas or raisins perhaps? Or chocolate buds? Perhaps some cheese and Vegemite? Okay, Vegemite&#8217;s not your thing? Cheese and sun-dried tomatoes then? Ahh&#8230; bacon. We love bacon. We love bacon and cheese.</p>

Roll out half of &nbsp;your dough, pop the cheese and bacon on top, roll out the other half and place that on top to sandwich the bacon and cheese. Roll up the mega-sandwich into a long tube and slice an inch from the end of the tube for your bacon and cheese swirl. Continue slicing until your tube&#8217;s finished, and pop some extra cheese on your swirls for good measure. Bake at 180C for 20mins or until golden.</p>

Here are the ingredients: 1 cup self raising flour, 1 cup of Greek or natural yoghurt. That&#8217;s it! Whack it all into a bowl, knead it and bake.&nbsp;</p>

Two ingredient bread and whatever you&#8217;ve got in your fridge and pantry. That&#8217;s all you need to make your own delicious morning tea, lunch or afternoon snack. How wonderful&#8217;s that?</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This Summer in Sydney has been quite a soggy one so far. Stuck indoors, desperate for some TV free fun? This easy one bowl banana bread was our answer to spending some time outside the box.</p>
<p style="text-align: right;"><strong>INGREDIENTS</strong><br />
3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed<br />
1/3 cup melted butter<br />
1 cup sugar<br />
1 egg, beaten<br />
1 teaspoon vanilla<br />
1 teaspoon baking soda<br />
Pinch of salt<br />
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>METHOD</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Preheat the oven to 175°C ( 350°F) &amp; peel the bananas.</p>
