Christie from Childhood101, the author of the book Time to Create wrote this guest post for me. Unfortunately, she moved her blog over to a new service provider and in the transition, the photos from this guest post were lost. I have asked Christie for them, but she hasn’t yet got around to getting me the photos, (she’s amazing and with that crazy busy). Burlap is a wonder fabric. An alternative to embroidery hoops is cutting small squares of burlap and gluing it to popsicle sticks. This creates a light weight frame that doesn’t get in the way of the stitches and doesn’t distort the fabric.

Weaving is a great project for small fingers. I made a popsicle stick loom, and we’ve also used recycled cds to weave.
